Visiting Angels caregivers can assist with a wide range of personal care activities while maintaining the dignity and respect of your loved one. We advocate that each care recipient participate in as much of their personal care as manageable to remain as independent as possible. Inevitably, some tasks become potentially hazardous later in life, particularly something like stepping in and out of a bath tub. Having careful assistance from a caregiver can help prevent serious injury.
Our Care Manager will work with you and your loved one to come up with a plan of care to establish which personal care tasks your loved one wants help with. Sometimes the only help necessary is reminding your loved one to take medication, or simply to observe daily tasks.
Here are some of the personal care tasks that our caregivers can perform:
- Bathing, including showering and sponge bathing
- Dental care
- Skin care
- Perineal care
- Adult briefs
- Repositioning to prevent bed sores
- Range of motion activities
